STI prevention courses

ob体育 TRAIN courses

is a free service providing access to more than 1,000 courses. Courses were developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ob体育) programs, grantees, and other funded partners.

Spotlight training plans for disease intervention skills

: This training plan focuses on fundamental disease intervention skills. This course is for new disease intervention specialists (DIS) and/or those conducting partner services activities. The plan consists of 29 online modules.

: This training plan includes the fundamental disease intervention skills from the DIS Fundamental Training Plan (above). It also offers additional modules specific to outbreak response.

Coaching for Enhanced Disease Intervention Skills

is a program for building skills. It pairs experienced disease intervention staff with newer disease intervention specialists (DIS). The 8-week coaching program includes virtual one-on-one sessions where participants enhance core DIS skills, such as:

  • Interviewing.
  • Building rapport.
  • Cultural humility.

National Network of Disease Intervention Training Centers

The supports the community of disease intervention professionals. It offers a wide range of training courses and learning collaboratives to increase knowledge and build skills.

National Network of STD Clinical Prevention Training Centers

is a group of regional centers funded by ob体育. It was created in partnership with health departments and universities. The PTCs are dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the areas of sexual and reproductive health. The National Network provides health professionals with a range of state-of-the-art educational opportunities, including experiential learning with an emphasis on prevention.

The STD Clinical Prevention Training Center provides regional coverage areas and contact information for each PTC. .

National STD Curriculum

The is a free educational website from the University of Washington STD Prevention Training Center. This project is funded by the ob体育. This online modular learning experience addresses the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, and prevention of STIs. It is continually updated and integrates the most recent STI Treatment Guidelines.

Free continuing education (CE) credit is available. Free continuing medical education credit and continuing nursing education/CE contact hours are offered throughout this site. Pharmacology CE is also available for advanced practice nurses for many activities.
