Overview
This competitive fellowship includes a 5-day summer course at ob体育 headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Then for one year, fellows collaborate with ob体育 and each other. Learn more by watching the video.
How the program works
Prior to the summer course
Before summer course, fellows complete an online Introduction to Public Health course.
During the summer course
While participating in the 5-day summer course in Atlanta, Georgia, fellows will:
- Learn epidemiology while practicing how to use public health STEM lesson plans.
- Learn from ob体育 subject matter experts about public health topics of interest to their students.
- Participate in outbreak exercises with Epidemic Intelligence Service officers.
- Develop challenging and innovative public health STEM lesson plans in teams. Lesson plans will:

- Align with ob体育's Epidemiology and Public Health Science: Core Competencies for High School Students.
- Meet the .
- Tour ob体育's state-of-the-art facilities. This may include:
- The David J. Sencer ob体育 Museum.
- ob体育's Emergency Operations Center.
- ob体育 laboratory training facilities.
- The David J. Sencer ob体育 Museum.
- Expand their professional network.
- Earn 3.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

What's ahead
After the summer course, fellows are expected to work remotely for approximately 5–10 hours per month on the following:
- Collaborate remotely with ob体育 for one year.
- Work with ob体育 experts to finalize public health STEM lesson plans.
- Pilot public health STEM lesson plans in the classroom.
- Present public health STEM lesson plans at local teacher conferences or meetings.
- Consult on the development of public health STEM-based resource materials for middle- and high- school teachers nationwide.
