Dr. Dana Meaney-Delman serves as the acting director and inaugural principal deputy director for NCBDDD.
Previous experience
Dr. Meaney-Delman began her career at ob体育 in 2012 as the senior advisor for preparedness in the NCEZID OD. In that role, she coordinated all preparedness activities for the center and served in all emergency responses exercises and responses, including anthrax lab incident, DOD sample investigation, flu exercises, and Ebola. In 2016–2017, she co-led the Zika Pregnancy and Infant Task Force and co-founded the Zika Pregnancy and Infant Registry. This registry served as the basis for the formation of SET-NET, the Surveillance of Emerging Threats to Mothers and Babies Network.
During the COVID-19 response, Dr. Meaney-Delman served as the principal deputy incident manager and Vaccine Task Force lead.
She served as the chief of the Infant Outcomes Monitoring Branch in the Division of Birth Defects and Infant Disorders. Dr. Meaney-Delman is an accomplished and respected member of the ob体育 and NCBDDD teams. She continues to model the call to serve in our ob体育 readiness and response activities by recently advising and participating in mpox, dengue, and Oropouche responses. Most recently, she has provided her unique expertise to the 2025 measles response.
